Rules of Play

To help keep The Olive Tree Play Café a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for everyone, we kindly ask all visitors to follow our Rules of Play.

Supervision

Parents and guardians are entirely responsible for the supervision, behaviour and safety of the children in their care at all times.

The Olive Tree Play Café does not provide childcare or direct supervision.

Children must not be left unattended anywhere within the premises.

Socks Only

Socks must be worn at all times within the play space by both adults, children and babies.

Shoes should be removed before entering the play areas.

If you forget your socks, don't worry — spare socks are available to purchase from the café counter.

Gentle Play

Our play space has been designed specifically for children aged five years and under.

Please encourage kind, gentle and respectful play.

To help keep everybody safe:

  • No rough play.

  • No climbing on furniture or equipment.

  • No throwing toys or objects.

  • Equipment should be used appropriately for a child's age and ability.

Older siblings are welcome in the café area but are not permitted to use the play equipment.

Food and Drink

No food or drink is permitted within the play space.

Only food and drinks purchased from The Olive Tree Play Café may be consumed on the premises.

Exceptions may be made for:

  • Baby formula.

  • Medical, allergy or dietary requirements.

Please speak to a member of staff if this applies to your child.

Health and Hygiene

Please do not attend if your child is unwell or displaying symptoms of a contagious illness.

We encourage all children and adults to wash or sanitise their hands before entering the play area.

If a toy, book or play item has been in a child's mouth, please place it in the designated 'Yuck Bucket' at the end of your session so it can be cleaned and sanitised.

Respect Our Space

Please treat our equipment, toys and furnishings with care.

If anything becomes damaged or you notice a safety concern, please notify a member of staff immediately.

Aggressive, disruptive or unsafe behaviour may result in visitors being asked to leave.

Photography

We love seeing families enjoy their time at The Olive Tree Play Café.

Please feel free to take photographs of your own children, but kindly avoid photographing other children or families without their permission.

Personal Belongings

Prams, bags and personal belongings remain the responsibility of their owners.

We provide dedicated buggy storage and ask that prams are folded where possible to help keep walkways clear.

The Olive Tree Play Café cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged belongings.
